Craig Edwards
Craig Edwards plays a broad range of American roots music: traditional fiddle styles including Appalachian old-time, blues, bluegrass, Cajun, Cape Breton, Irish, and Swing, old-time 5 string banjo, flatpicking and fingerstyle guitar covering Delta and Piedmont blues, honky-tonk, rockabilly, and swing, Cajun and Zydeco accordion, and solo and group singing. Alone or with other musicians, he plays with the drive and conviction that characterize these musical traditions. An award-winning fiddler, banjo player, and guitarist, Craig has toured extensively in the US, Canada, and Europe both as a solo performer and with bands. He has performed and taught at festivals, camps, dances, and venues including Rhythm and Roots, Merlefest, Banjo Camp North, Pinewoods Traditional Music and Dance Camp, Youth Traditional Song Camp, Mars Hill Roots Music Week, Basil Port of Call: Buffalo, Lunenberg Folk Festival, Friday Night Dance at the Glen Echo Ballroom, and The Old Farmer’s Ball. Craig teaches Traditional Fiddle Styles at Wesleyan University and private lessons both in his studio and online.
